Advertised Summary Job Description: The Columbia University Irving Medical Center Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology seeks a Clinical Coordinator III / Psychiatric NP to provide care coordination, supportive and evidenced based psychotherapies, and medication consultation and management for patients of the department in its new women's mental health program. S/He will have clinical and admitting privileges at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. Our ideal candidate will have a keen interest in women's mental health across the life course and/or experience with a perinatal population. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: -Assuming the role of first point of contact for patients with the program and thus shaping their experience of it; the person in this role will be the 'face of the program' and thus it will be essential to provide compassionate and efficient care in all interactions Assessing patients and getting them appropriately scheduled. -Providing diagnostic evaluations when needed. -Providing psychopharmacologic and short term psychotherapeutic treatments (up to one year postpartum when needed) for patients across the life course with a wide range of mental health issues. - Documenting in the medical record and entering, as appropriate, charges for encounters. - Providing overall program coordination alongside Division Senior Leadership - Collaborating with other team members including administrative staff, medical students, residents, fellows, psychology and social work trainees and research staff. - Collaborating with the Division Senior Leadership to implement new initiatives and build the program. - Complying with all HIPAA Regulations, as well as compliance & safety guidelines - Providing psychotherapy, psychopharm, and care coordination as three equal components of the position while having the flexibility for greater emphasis on care coordination in the first months of the job -ability within first year of hire to assume a role of providing supervision to recent NP graduate(s)
General Minimum Qualifications: Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus five years of related experience; Master's preferred.
Additional Specific Minimum Qualifications: Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) and valid New York State Certified Nurse Practitioner license required. Must have 2 years of practice management experience. Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills to direct work, drive change and effectively collaborate.
Preferred Qualifications: Doctorate in Nursing (DNP) preferred
