Hospitalist, Assistant Medical Director of Practice Improvement

Christiana Care Health System is searching for an Internal Medicine or Family Medicine (BE/BC) Hospitalist who has aspirations to also own the title of Assistant Medical Director of Practice Improvement.
This physician would be a part of the Christiana Care Hospitalist Partners and work at both the Christiana Campus located in Newark, DE and the Wilmington Campus located in Wilmington, DE. Christiana Care Hospitalist Partners is a forward thinking employed Hospitalist practice emphasizing continuity of care, patient satisfaction, and quality. Hospitalists are active within the health system participating in committees, research, teaching and leadership opportunities that support the improvement of patient care and Hospital Medicine. Outside of traditional Hospitalist duties the AMD of Practice Improvement will also be responsible for the following:
Supervises the clinical performance for 30 physicians in CCHP. This includes individual quarterly check in meetings to give feedback, informal check ins/shadowing on the floors to gain insight and provide feedback in real time, etc.
Supervises the billing and compliance processes for the practice; works with our billing/compliance liaison to address questions/issues as they arise. Gives feedback to providers regarding our billing/compliance process.
Acts as the physician lead in reviewing chart for all providers/quality assurance monitoring.
Participates in the monthly review of finances for the practice. Assists with preparing the practice budget for each fiscal year.
In conjunction with the Medical Director, develops and implements: strategic planning, policies/procedures, quality and process improvement projects, marketing materials, quality assurance monitoring, and education
Participates in and facilitates projects designed and implemented by Assistant Medical Directors.
Contributes to the mentoring of newer group members including: promoting provider development through shadowing, feedback and goal setting sessions, suggestions and assistance with projects and suggestions for educational activities.
To support the program's goals, the schedule is progressive and our hospitalists have a manageable patient load. This position comes with designated administrative time.
