The goal of the residency is to provide a comprehensive program with an emphasis on pharmaceutical care. The flexibility of the program allows for the creation of an individual schedule to meet the residents' specific needs and goals. Acute care clinical training areas include internal medicine, critical care, cardiology, oncology, surgery and anesthesia, infectious disease, pediatrics/neonatology, and emergency medicine. Ambulatory care clinical training includes anticoagulation management, Heart Failure clinic, and oncology. Longitudinal rotations include practice management, which focuses on managing clinical programs, leadership development, managing human behavior, strategic planning, professional societies, finance, and community events and the education rotation, which gives the resident the opportunity to develop their teaching skills by working with students. Residents will complete a major research project, medication-use evaluation, and a seminar presentation.
