Florida Hospital East Orlando seeks to hire a Physical Therapist (Clinical Fellowship Year) who will embrace our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ.

Florida Hospital Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation – East Orlando is located in the Medical Office Building on the Florida Hospital East Orlando campus. This rapidly growing facility offers physical, occupational and speech therapy and specializes in treating both adults and pediatric patients for orthopedic and sports medicine injuries as well as neurological diagnoses. Other specialty programs include lymphedema therapy, vestibular therapy, neuromuscular reeducation, certified hand therapy, massage therapy and a medical fitness program that is supervised by an exercise physiologist.
8am - 6pm hours may vary; M-F
Provides direct and indirect services to specific age groups in the acute care, inpatient and/or outpatient rehabilitation settings. Utilizes process improvement in achieving the goals of the Rehabilitation & Sports Medicine Department. Adheres to the Florida Hospital Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. May supervise technical aides and volunteers. Complies with the standards of all accrediting bodies and payers as evident through documentation reviews, tracers and rounds' results. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
At least entry-level professional competency of Physical Therapy practices, theory, principles and applications.
Basic computer skills to include Outlook, Microsoft Office and Windows (Preferred)
Master's degree in Physical Therapy
Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy (Preferred)
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required:
Current valid State of Florida license as a Physical Therapist

Performs evaluations and re-evaluations according to standards and recommended techniques. Establishes, implements and adapts an individualized treatment plan of care (including appropriate goal setting, treatment activities and frequency). Discharges patients when maximum benefit has been achieved and/or according to standards of practice and payer guidelines.
Documents accurately, completely and timely with legible handwriting. Uses measurable and objective terminology following standards of practice, insurance guidelines and department/hospital policy and procedures.
Charges patients accurately, timely and legibly according to guidelines of the CPT code format, price file and following insurance guidelines.
Utilizes knowledge of growth and development for assigned patient age population. Evaluates for age-appropriate behavior, motor skills and physiological norms of the patient. Interprets data relative to patient age. Modifies approach and communication skills appropriate to the patient served, which may include: Neonate/Infant (birth < 1), Pediatric (1 < 12 yrs), Adolescent (12 < 18 yrs), Adult (18 < 65 yrs) and Geriatric (65 + yrs).
Identifies the need for patient/caregiver education and utilizes each opportunity for teaching on a planned or spontaneous basis. Documents education and understanding as appropriate.
Participates in practice changes as a result of performance improvement activities. Supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department.
Meets at least 90% of productivity standards.
Willingly adjusts and adapts to changes in patient census by altering working hours to assist in other centers/programs as approved and observed by manager.
Practices principles of employee and patient safety when performing daily job activities via observation.
Complies with FH Compliance Plan, rules and regulations of all local, state and federal agencies and with the standards of all accrediting bodies and payers as evident through documentation reviews, tracers and rounds' results.
