We are seeking a new or experienced dual-certified Nurse Midwife & Nurse Practitioner to join our Family Medicine team in Fosston, MN with outreach services to our Oklee and Bagley clinics. Our collaborative, team-oriented provider group team consists of 5 physicians (four of whom provide OB and will provide support/back-up to CNM) and 8 NPs. In addition to well-rounded support staff, the recently remodeled and enhanced campus provides the ideal setting for this new position.
1.0 FTE, full-time position
4 days/week in clinic; hours are approx. 9a-5p (32 contact hours with remainder of time considered within call schedule)
Call: CNM and Fam Med w/OB physicians will follow his/her own deliveries
15-20 patients per day (includes procedures)
Potential outreach of 1 day per week rotating among Oklee and Bagley clinics
80-100 deliveries per year
Position includes rounding on OB patients
Skill set should include, but are not limited to: pre- & post-natal care, deliveries, follow-up care, and annual exams including pap smears /pelvic examinations, birth control management, colposcopy (clinic procedure), well-baby exams and circumcisions.
The Certified Nurse Midwife performs care that focuses on pregnancy, childbirth, the post-partum period and the family planning and gynecological needs of women. CNMs work interdependently with physicians with whom they consult and to whom they refer patients who develop complications requiring physician care. They will also provide antepartum, postpartum and gynecologic care to essentially normal women.
The Nurse Practitioner utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision making skills, while working both independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. The NP will provide health care to individuals emphasizing health promotion, disease prevention and disease management. Position requires high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Master's Degree (preferred) in nurse midwifery and/or an accredited and certified registered nurse midwifery program as approved by the American College of Nurse Midwives.
Master's or Doctorate degree in Nurse Practitioner Women's Health or Family program from an accredited program/institution.
Prefer strong background in labor & delivery
Current licensure as a registered nurse in appropriate state
Current Licensure identifying practitioner as a certified nurse midwife and nurse practitioner in appropriate state.
Current certification in CPR & NRP.
National certification, in applicable areas
Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice.
